Mamchur Yulii Valeriyovych

Year of birth: 1971. Colonel of the Air Force of Ukraine. Class 1 military pilot. In 2013, he was appointed as a commander of the 204th Tactical Air Force Brigade, the only formation of fighter jets in Crimea. The brigade was stationed at the Belbek airfield (Sevastopol) and was subordinate to the Tactical Group Crimea of the Ukrainian Air Force. During the blockade and attempts to capture the brigade in 2014, Mamchur showed exemplary courage and self-control. In particular, on 03/04/2014, he led a column of servicemen to push back the heavily armed Russian invaders and liberate a section of the airfield. On 03/22/2014, he was taken prisoner of war and held in captivity for 4 days. After the release he continued his service in the Air Force on the mainland of Ukraine. From 2014 to 2019 he was member of the Ukrainian Parliament.
